Faith; The Sixth Dimension: Beyond What You Can See
Faith is a spiritual sense that is sharpened and strengthened by the light of God’s Word. Just as God gave us five natural senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell—He also wants us to operate by another sense: faith.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” — Hebrews 11:6
Faith is a spiritual sense. It helps us see beyond what our natural eyes can see. It helps us believe God when everything around us says the opposite.
How Is Faith a Spiritual Sense?
Every time you operate in your sixth sense, faith, it will often contradict your five natural senses.
Your eyes may see lack, but faith sees provision.
Your ears may hear bad news, but faith hears God’s promises.
Your feelings may tell you to give up, but faith tells you to keep going.
You will need your sixth sense when your five senses cannot help you. When all your natural senses say the situation is negative, faith will help you see what God is saying.
Jesus operated in this sixth sense many times. When Jairus’ daughter died, everyone around Him believed the situation was over. Their natural senses told them there was no hope. But Jesus saw beyond death and brought the girl back to life.
Be careful of people who are controlled only by their five senses. They can talk you out of what God has spoken to you. They can make you change your mind and lose your faith.
Walk by Faith, Not by Sight
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Faith can also be seen as a spiritual sense of sight.
The believer is not meant to live only by what he sees. We are called to walk by faith.
Many things in the spirit realm do not make sense to the natural mind, but they make faith.
God wants us to depend completely on our sixth sense, not our five senses.
The Limitation of the Natural Mind
“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” — 1 Corinthians 2:9
There are things God has prepared for His children that cannot be understood by the natural senses.
That is why the Bible says:
“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2
As our minds are renewed by God’s Word, we begin to understand and prove what is good, acceptable, and perfect in the will of God.
The Bible also says:
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace… Because the carnal mind is enmity against God.” — Romans 8:6-7
When we depend only on our natural senses, we become carnally minded. The five senses were not given the ability to understand the ways of God.
Your peace is connected to your spirituality. Until you become spiritually minded, there is a level of peace you cannot enjoy.
The Secret of Apostle Paul
Paul operated in a realm of faith that made him say, “None of these things move me.”
How was he able to say that?
Because he lived by conviction. He lived by the revelation of God’s Word.
When Paul was in a shipwreck, the captain was confused and afraid. But Paul was calm because an angel had appeared to him and told him that the lives of all the people on the ship had been handed to him.
Paul was not moved by the storm because he had a word from God.
Faith stands on what God has said, not on what circumstances are saying.
Faith Is Sharpened by the Word of God
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God…” — 1 Corinthians 2:14
The sense of faith is sharpened by the Word of God.
The more open you are to God’s Word, the sharper your faith becomes.
Discernment is very important in walking in the sixth sense.
When you stay in God’s Word, your discernment develops. You begin to understand what God is saying and what He is doing.
The word of discernment that comes through spiritual growth is different from the gift of discernment given by the Holy Spirit.
The Ten Lepers and the Sixth Sense
Everything we have talked about can be seen in Luke 17:12-14.
Jesus told the ten lepers they were cleansed, but nothing had changed physically at that moment.
The miracle had already happened in the spirit.
By faith, they believed what Jesus said.
As they went, they were cleansed.
Their healing manifested because they acted on faith.
The Blind Man Who Obeyed
In John 9:1-6, Jesus put clay on the eyes of a blind man and told him to go and wash in the pool.
The instruction did not make sense naturally.
The man could have argued and said, “I may be blind, but I still have sense.”
Instead, he obeyed.
He went, washed, and came back seeing.
Faith obeys God even when the instruction does not make sense.
It Is Time to Switch to Your Sixth Sense
Walking with your five senses has cheated many believers for too long.
It is time to switch to your sixth sense and take delivery of all that God has made available for you.
The just shall live by faith.
Where your legs cannot carry you, faith can carry you.
Where men cannot help you, faith can help you.
Where money cannot help you, switch to faith.
When situations look impossible, switch to faith.
Faith is your sixth sense.
Prayer
Father, let faith be birthed in our hearts.
Help us to have the right response whenever You speak to us.
Help us switch from our natural standpoint of carnality into the spiritual realm of possibilities.
Thank You for reviving our hearts where we have been trapped by fear, doubt, and unbelief.
Thank You because You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You.
All things are possible to those who believe.
